Elon Musk Reclaims Trillionaire Status as SpaceX Bounces Back
Elon Musk has regained his status as a trillionaire. The fortune of the world’s richest individual increased by $65 billion on Monday, reaching $1.04 trillion, as the valuations of his investments in SpaceX and Tesla Inc. appreciated. SpaceX shares have appreciated by 13% since the beginning of October, whereas Tesla has experienced a rise of 6.7%. It signifies the inaugural occasion in a quarter of a year that the 55-year-old technology magnate’s wealth has necessitated 13 digits. He achieved the status of the world’s first trillionaire in June following a significant increase in SpaceX’s value after its record-breaking initial public offering.
However, he swiftly relinquished that title as the shares subsequently declined amid worries regarding the company’s elevated valuation. As of late July, Musk’s decline in wealth, which surpassed $600 billion from its peak, exceeded the net worth of any individual who has ever appeared on list of the world’s 500 richest people, aside from Musk himself. The recent advancements have been driven by a resurgence of optimism within both firms.
On Monday, analysts at Morgan Stanley identified SpaceX as one of the most cost-effective avenues to capitalise on “the strong optionality” within the space and intelligence sector. This assessment contributes to a rally in which shares of the space, artificial intelligence, and social media company have surged 58% from a low in August. Last week, Tesla announced sales figures for the third quarter that exceeded expectations. Musk’s stake in SpaceX and Tesla constitutes over 98% of his net worth, as reported by wealth index.
