Bitcoin Climbs While Crypto Market Cap Tops $2.2 Trillion

The market for cryptocurrencies has been climbing steadily overnight, despite the fact that three FOMC members voted to increase the federal funds rate. Concerns about inflation took a back seat to tech sector excitement in the crypto market due to a number of factors, including a weaker-than-expected core PCE data, an unexpected drop in second quarter GDP growth, and a drop in global crude oil prices overnight. In keeping with market expectations, the Federal Reserve maintained the target range for the federal funds rate at 3.5 to 3.75 percent on Wednesday. Three FOMC members voted in favour of a raise, though, so worries about a rate hike are now even more widespread. On the other hand, the core PCE price index rose 0.1% in June, according to data issued on Thursday morning by the US Bureau of Economic Analysis. The market had been expecting a 0.2% rise in core inflation, the preferred inflation gauge of the Federal Reserve, for the American economy. Reducing expectations for a rate hike in September, the softer-than-expected inflation reading helped to calm global markets.

There is a 41% chance that the Federal Reserve will take a break in September, according to the CME FedWatch program, which tracks the expectations of interest rate traders. It had been 18% a week earlier. Crypto markets are trading strongly in the green, while the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite gains roughly 2.7%. The total value of the cryptocurrency market increased by 0.64 percent overnight, reaching $2.21 trillion, with Bitcoin’s price, which is currently the market leader, fluctuating between $65,071 and $63,206. Trading volumes for cryptocurrencies increased by 13% in tandem with the growth in overall market capitalisation. The most valuable cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, is up 0.9% at $64,744.29. Priced at $126,198.07 on October 7, 2025, the all-time high is around 49% below the current level. The original cryptocurrency’s losses for the year are now at 26%. The net inflow for Bitcoin Spot ETF products in the US was $32 million on Wednesday, compared to $50 million on Tuesday. Ninety million dollars were brought in by the iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF. According to reports, Bitcoin is still ranked thirteenth among all assets globally in terms of market capitalisation.
