Crypto Market Edges Higher as ETF Inflows Boost Sentiment
The cryptocurrency markets mirrored the equities markets to a lesser degree as a result of the strong corporate profits, falling crude oil prices, and renewed optimism about a Hormuz settlement. During the past day, the total market value of all cryptocurrencies has climbed by almost 0.4%. The Nasdaq Composite, which is heavily weighted in technology, however, rose 2.6% on Tuesday. The Nikkei 225 index in Japan and the KOSPI index in South Korea both saw substantial gains of 3.8% and 3.6%, respectively, in Wednesday’s trade. There has been a recent uptick of about 0.5 percent in Wall Street futures. Positive crypto market sentiment was supported by a short squeeze in crypto liquidations, an uptick in ETF inflows, and a little decrease in expectations for rate hikes; nevertheless, regulatory concerns and worries about safety dampened the euphoria. Liquidations for short positions have surpassed those for long positions, according to the 24-hour statistics. The total amount of $206 million attained in the last 24 hours through crypto liquidations, with $70 million coming from long positions and $136 million from short positions. This amount shows the amount that exchanges or lending protocols have closed leveraged situations because there aren’t enough funds to cover any losses that could occur.

It was 58.4 percent the day before. The market’s anxiety about the Federal Reserve’s impending interest rate hike has been allayed by the decline. Crypto market confidence was dampened by the persistence of uncertainty surrounding the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act’s result. Prolonged debates about the moral implications of government officials’ dealings with digital assets have caused the law to be postponed. The recent Bitcoin Coldcard vulnerability, which included around fifteen attackers and may have resulted in losses exceeding one hundred million dollars, has had a significant impact on market sentiment. Another factor that has dampened enthusiasm is the possibility of selling pressure caused by stolen Bitcoins that have made it to exchanges.
The CMC Crypto Fear and Greed Index, which tracks market sentiment on cryptocurrencies, shows a rating of 38, up from 37 the day before.
