U.S. Market Futures Flat to Start the Week

U.S. stock futures are flat in pre-market trading for Monday, October 3. The Dow Futures are at 18219.0 for a gain of 0 points. The S&P 500 Futures are at 2159.5 for a loss of -1.00 point. The Nasdaq Futures are at 4869.5 for a loss of -0.75 points. The Russell Futures are at 1246.8 for a loss of -1.50 points.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is at 16598.67 for a gain of 148.83 points or 0.90 percent. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index is at 23584.43 for a gain of 287.28 points or 1.23 percent. China’s Shanghai Composite is at 3004.70 for a gain of 6.22 points or 0.21 percent. India’s S&P BSE Sensex is at 28243.29 for a gain of 377.33 points or 1.35 percent. In Europe, the FTSE 100 is at 6983.79 for a gain of 84.46 points or 1.22 percent. Germany’s DAX is at 10511.02 for a gain of 105.48 points or 1.01 percent. France’s CAC 40 is at 4457.73 for a gain of 9.47 points or 0.21 percent. The Stoxx Europe 600 is at 343.63 for gain of 0.71 points or 0.21 percent.

Stocks are trading mostly flat as investors look ahead to the week’s data reports. On the economic calendar for Monday are the following reports: Motor Vehicle Sales, Gallup US Consumer Spending Measure, PMI Manufacturing Index, ISM Manufacturing Index and Construction Spending.
