Trump slams conservative US media for Iran war criticism
US President Donald Trump on Thursday criticized several right-wing media figures following a divergence in their perspectives regarding US operations in Iran. In an extensive social media post on Truth Social, he expressed his frustrations towards former allies, including Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens, and Alex Jones, referring to them as “NUT JOBS” and “TROUBLEMAKERS.” Trump launched a personal attack on several individuals in a post on Truth Social, accusing the pundits of forsaking him for “cheap publicity” and insinuating that they are covertly in favor of Iran acquiring nuclear weapons. He brought up his enduring conflict with Megyn Kelly, alluding to her “nasty” questions from his 2016 campaign. He ridiculed Tucker Carlson for his academic credentials and Candace Owens concerning recent issues surrounding the First Lady of France. He remarked that Alex Jones “deserved to go bankrupt” in light of his legal struggles concerning the Sandy Hook shooting. In a pointed statement, POTUS remarked, “I know why Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens, and Alex Jones have all been fighting me for years, especially by the fact that they think it is wonderful for Iran, the Number One State Sponsor of Terror, to have a Nuclear Weapon — Because they have one thing in common, Low IQs.”
They are individuals lacking intelligence, a fact acknowledged by themselves, their families, and the broader community as well! Examine their history, scrutinize their track record. They lack the necessary qualities, and they always have! They have all been removed from television, lost their shows, and are not even invited back because they have become irrelevant. They are seen as unstable individuals, troublemakers, and will say anything necessary for a bit of “free” and cheap publicity. Now they believe they garner some “clicks” due to their Third Rate Podcasts, yet no one is discussing them, and their views stand in stark contrast to MAGA — Or I wouldn’t have won the Presidential Election in a LANDSLIDE. Trump referred to them as “losers” and also criticized various US broadcasters for providing them with “positive press for the first time in their lives”. Disassociating them from the MAGA movement, he criticized the conservatives, stating that they are attempting to “latch on to MAGA.” He further emphasized, “I only care about doing right for our Country. MAGA is about WINNING and STRENGTH in not allowing Iran to have Nuclear Weapons. MAGA is about MAKING AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, and these people have no idea how to do that, BUT I DO, because THE UNITED STATES IS NOW THE ‘HOTTEST’ COUNTRY ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD!” These commentators have charged the President with violating his “America First” campaign promises by engaging in an expensive conflict they assert is being influenced by pressure from Israel.
In contrast, the President and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth assert that “Operation Epic Fury” was a “Total and Complete Victory” that significantly weakened Iran’s military capabilities, despite the ongoing challenges to a delicate two-week ceasefire. Trump’s statement swiftly elicited responses from Candace Owens and Alex Jones. Owens’ comment served as a direct counter to an extensive, multi-paragraph tirade by Donald Trump on Truth Social. Instead of providing an extensive justification, Owens succinctly stated: “It may be time to put Grandpa up in a home.” The conflict is profoundly personal. Owens has recently charged the administration with “sacrificing” the legacy (and, in her more conspiratorial posts, the life) of Charlie Kirk to advance a pro-Israel war agenda. In the wake of the President’s unprecedented attack on his “Original MAGA” base via Truth Social—targeting figures such as Jones, Tucker Carlson, and Candace Owens—Jones utilized his latest broadcast to depict the ensuing fallout as a struggle for the President’s “soul.”
Instead of confronting the President head-on, Jones has chosen a method of “sympathetic intervention,” asserting that the Donald Trump perceived by the public today is not the “real” Trump. Jones has consistently asserted that Trump is under a “mind control spell” or “neoconservative trance” brought on by advisors such as Mike Pompeo and foreign leaders, with a particular mention of Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu. Jones contended that the President’s present hostility towards Iran was “scripted” by deep-state actors with the deliberate aim of undermining the MAGA movement from within. This follows Trump’s earlier criticism of the media regarding the Iran war, where he asserted that they disseminated the “wrong” ten points released by Iran. As reported on a purported TEN POINT PLAN regarding the Iran negotiations, which many believe was designed to undermine the credibility of those engaged in the peace process. All ten points were fabricated – deceitful individuals!!! “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN,” he stated in a post on Truth Social.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt on Wednesday also warned the media about disseminating inaccurate news. There has been a significant amount of misleading reporting today regarding these negotiations and the plans in place, so I want to clarify and set the record straight. The Iranians initially proposed a 10-point plan that was fundamentally unserious, unacceptable, and ultimately dismissed. It was, quite literally, discarded by President Trump and his negotiating team. “Many outlets in this room have falsely reported on that plan as being acceptable to the United States, and that is false,” she said. Leavitt emphasized the importance of the media refraining from disseminating false news and propaganda. I would strongly advise the media to refrain from promoting narratives that lack factual support. The statements made by Iran in public or shared with the media significantly differ from their private communications with the United States, the President, and his team. “Never underestimate President Trump’s ability to successfully advance America’s interests and broker peace,” she said.
