Netanyahu: Defending Israel Means Safeguarding the World from Iran

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated on Monday that Iran’s nuclear and missile programme poses a threat to the entire world, asserting that Israel’s military actions are intended not only for its own defense but also to protect global security. “This is the third day of Operation Roaring Lion, which the Israeli army and the State of Israel launched, together with our great friends in the US and President Trump, to thwart existential threats to Israel, and great threats to America and the entire world,” Netanyahu said while visiting Bet Shemesh, which was hit by an Iranian ballistic missile on Sunday.

Nine individuals lost their lives and more than 20 sustained injuries when a missile struck a residential area in Bet Shemesh, located approximately 35 km from Jerusalem. Netanyahu stated that Iran’s threats reach beyond Israel and the United States, impacting Europe and other areas. They chant, ‘Death to Israel, death to America.’ Their ultimate target is clear. However, I stated that they would also focus on those in the middle, that they would aim at Europe. “They did,” he said, alluding to a reported Iranian attack on a UK base in Cyprus.

Netanyahu issued a stark warning regarding Iran’s potential acquisition of nuclear weapons and long-range ballistic missiles, asserting that such capabilities would pose a threat to all of humanity. If this terrorist regime… acquires nuclear weapons and the capability to deliver them, through ballistic and intercontinental ballistic missiles, they will pose a threat to all of humanity. Thus, we embarked on a mission to safeguard our interests. “But in so doing, we protect many others,” he said.

Approximately 10 individuals lost their lives and many others sustained injuries in Israel due to retaliatory strikes initiated by Iran after the assassination of its Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in a coordinated operation by the US and Israel on Saturday. Netanyahu expressed gratitude to US President Donald Trump for his support of Israel. “I want to say special thanks to our great friend and a great leader of the world, Donald Trump, for joining us in this crucial effort to save the world,” he said.
