EU diplomat sees ‘serious risk’ of no-deal Brexit

 One European Union government sees a “serious risk” that Britain will leave the bloc without a transition deal next week, broadcaster Sky News said on Friday, citing an unnamed diplomat from the country.

Earlier on Friday, an EU official told Reuters there was full agreement among EU ambassadors there should be an extension, although a source close to French President Emmanuel Macron later said Britain had not provided enough justification for a delay.

Britain is due to leave the EU on Oct. 31, without a deal, unless EU countries agree an extension.
