U.S. Market Futures Pointing Lower Ahead of Jobs Report

U.S. stock futures are pointing lower in premarket trading for Friday, November 4. The Dow Futures are at 17838.0 for a loss of -14.00 points. The S&P 500 Futures are at 2083.75 for a gain of 0.25 points. The Nasdaq Futures are at 4671.5 for a loss of -3.00 points. The Russell Futures are at 1153.4 for a loss of -1.00 point.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, indexes in Asia Pacific were at the following:

Japan’s Nikkei 225 is at 16905.36 for a loss of -229.32 points or -1.34 percent

Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is at 22642.62 for a loss of -40.89 points or -0.18 percent

China’s Shanghai Composite is at 3125.32 for a loss of -3.62 points or -0.12 percent

India’s S&P BSE Sensex is at 27274.15 for a loss of -156.13 points or -0.57 percent

In Europe, indexes were at the following:

FTSE 100 at 6708.71 for a loss of -81.80 points or -1.20 percent

Germany’s DAX at 10241.61 for a loss of -84.27 points or -0.82 percent

France’s CAC 40 at 4372.94 for a loss of -38.74 points or -0.88 percent

Stoxx Europe 600 at 328.57 for a loss of -2.99 points or -0.90 percent

Friday’s Factors and Events

Investors are still worried about the election’s affect on the economy and third quarter earnings are mixed. Investors will be closely watching the October jobs report for insight on the economy and the Fed’s next rate increase. Other economic reports affecting the day’s trading include the following: International Trade and the Baker Hughes Rig Count.
