U.S. Market Futures Pointing Higher Ahead of Third Quarter Earnings Reports

U.S. stock futures are pointing higher in pre-market trading for Monday, October 10. The Dow Futures are at 18203.0 for a gain of 46.00. The S&P 500 Futures are at 2153.5 for a gain of 7.00 points. The Nasdaq Futures are at 4874.0 for a gain of 15.00 points. The Russell Futures are at 1235.9 for a gain of 4.20 points.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is at 16860.09 for a loss of -39.01 points or -0.23 percent. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index is at 23851.82 for a loss of -100.68 points or -0.42 percent. China’s Shanghai Composite is at 3048.14 for a gain of 43.44 points or 1.45 percent. India’s S&P BSE Sensex is at 28082.34 for a gain of 21.20 points or 0.08 percent. In Europe, the FTSE 100 is at 7049.44 for a gain of 5.05 points or 0.07 percent. Germany’s DAX is at 10535.37 for a gain of 44.51 or 0.42 percent. France’s CAC 40 is at 4462.20 for a gain of 12.29 points or 0.28 percent. The Stoxx Europe 600 is at 339.89 for a gain of 0.25 points or 0.07 percent.

Stocks are pointing higher Monday as third quarter earnings begin this week. On the economic calendar Monday is the TD Ameritrade IMX report. Charles Evans from the Federal Reserve is also speaking on Monday. Trading is likely to be light as banks and credit unions are closed for the Columbus Day holiday.
