U.S. Market Futures Pointing Lower after China Exports Report

U.S. stock futures are pointing lower in pre-market trading for Thursday, October 13. The Dow Futures are at 17953.0 for a loss of -100.00 points. The S&P 500 Futures are at 2119.0 for a loss of -12.50 points. The Nasdaq Futures are lower at 4783.75 for a loss of -29.75 points. The Russell Futures are at 1214.7 for a loss of -8.20 points.

In overnight trading in the Eastern Hemisphere, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is at 16774.24 for a loss of -65.76 points or -0.39 percent. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index is at 23031.30 for a loss of -375.75 points or -1.61 percent. China’s Shanghai Composite is at 3061.35 for a gain of 2.85 points or 0.09 percent. India’s S&P BSE Sensex is at 27643.11 for a loss of -439.23 points or -1.56 percent. In Europe, the FTSE 100 is at 6978.69 for a loss of -45.32 points or -0.65 percent. Germany’s DAX is at 10388.42 for a loss of -134.65 points or -1.28 percent. France’s CAC 40 is at 4391.87 for a loss of -60.37 points or -1.36 percent. The Stoxx Europe 600 is at 335.33 for a loss of -3.23 points or -0.95 percent.

Stocks are pointing lower in pre-market trading Thursday after global markets were lower in overnight trading following a disappointing exports report from China. The Fed’s indication for a rate increase in 2016 is also affecting stock valuations.
